VERNON - Travellers are advised the Seymour West Forest Service Road will be permanently closed at 34 kilometres starting Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, due to the removal of a bridge.

The Seymour West FSR is a dead-end road about 25 kilometres north of Seymour Arm. The bridge is unsafe and must be removed to ensure the safety of travellers on the road. The bridge will not be replaced.

Upper Seymour River Provincial Park is in the area, and one entrance to the park will no longer be accessible from Seymour West FSR. All other park access points, including those from 1100 FSR, will still be open for use.

British Columbia has over 55,000 kilometres of Forest Service roads that provides access to British Columbia's backcountry.
